Days after a video circulated widely on social media, depicting former US President Donald Trump’s visit to a firearms store where he appeared to consider acquiring a Glock pistol, prosecutors are suggesting that he might have engaged in illegal activity.

In a court submission made on Friday, prosecutors proposed that Trump could potentially have violated the law if he did, in fact, purchase a handgun while under the scrutiny of a federal indictment, as reported by RT.

The court document stated, “The defendant either acquired a firearm in contravention of the law and the terms of his release, or he is attempting to capitalize on his supporters’ mistaken belief that he did.”

Furthermore, the filing asserted, “Purchasing a firearm while this felony indictment is pending would constitute a separate federal offense and consequently, a breach of the defendant’s release conditions.”
