In a dramatic turn of events, over one million residents of Gaza City received a stark warning from the Israeli military on Friday, instructing them to evacuate to the southern regions within the next 24 hours. This urgent directive coincided with the Israeli military’s deployment of tanks near the Gaza Strip, sparking apprehensions of an imminent major ground offensive.
While Israeli warplanes continued their relentless attacks on Gaza, the country’s Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, ominously declared, “The time for war is now.”
The military’s communication emphasized their plans for “significant” operations in Gaza City in the days to come, stipulating that residents will only be permitted to return once an official announcement is issued.
The United Nations had earlier relayed the Israeli military’s warning to Reuters, fueling concerns among Palestinians that this could lead to the long-anticipated Israeli ground offensive.
As of now, the Israeli military has not provided any official comments regarding this dire warning.
