Round Two of Elections Begins: Which Political Party brings the better Candidates?

Pakistan’s general elections on February 8, 2024, are approaching fast, and all district election officials are set to begin the process. From today onwards, Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant ROs will hand out nomination papers to potential candidates for the national and provincial assembly seats.

This follows the announcement of the election schedule by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), after the Supreme Court ordered them to do so. The competition is heating up!

Information for Candidates:

Nomination paper fee: Rs 100 

Election deposit: Rs 20,000 for MPA seats, Rs 30,000 for MNA seats (refundable if the nomination is cancelled). Distribution dates:

December 19-20-21 Submission dates: 

December 20-21-22 (different ROs for national and provincial seats) Deposit methods: Cash or National Bank of Pakistan (with challan and receipt) Security and Ease:

Posters showing constituencies are hung at RO offices. All ROs have police protection and vehicles. A huge stock of nomination forms is ready. The whole process is computerised for speed. This is the official launch of election activities in Rawalpindi. Brace yourself for a fierce campaign season!
