Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region, causing power outages in several districts and forcing authorities to switch to backup power systems, local officials reported on Tuesday.

The attack affected the Konotop, Okhtyrka, and Sumy districts, damaging critical infrastructure that had to rely on backup power. Sumy’s water supply facilities lost power during the night, necessitating a switch to emergency power.
