Pakistan has highlighted the urgent need to define the concept of “rule of law,” emphasizing that this fundamental principle, which should apply equally to all, is being severely compromised by the actions of certain nations, particularly Israel. The country is currently engaged in what Pakistan describes as a “genocidal war” against Palestine and the broader Middle East.

Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, addressed the General Assembly’s Sixth Committee, focusing on legal issues. He lamented the visible erosion of the ‘rule of law’ on the international stage, particularly in relation to Israel’s actions against Palestinians and others in the region.
