Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir issued a strong warning on Tuesday, stating that anyone who interferes with national security or obstructs military operations will face severe consequences. Speaking at an apex committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the army chief emphasized that fighting terrorism is a shared responsibility for all Pakistanis. “In this battle against terrorism, every Pakistani is a soldier—some wear a uniform, others do not,” he said. He called for national unity in tackling the threat of terrorism.

General Munir reiterated the importance of Pakistan’s constitution, which he said gives the military the duty to protect both the internal and external security of the country. “Anyone who creates obstacles to our security or tries to prevent us from fulfilling our responsibilities will have to face the consequences,” he warned.
He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in overcoming governance challenges. “Every day, we are addressing these challenges through the sacrifices of our martyrs,” he noted, underscoring the commitment of the armed forces and security agencies in maintaining peace and stability.
General Munir’s statement reflects the military’s resolve to safeguard national security and take firm action against any threats to the country’s peace and stability.
