ISLAMABAD: In a ceremony held on Saturday, Admiral Naveed Ashraf took command as the 23rd naval chief of Pakistan, succeeding Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, who formally handed over the reins in Islamabad.
Admiral Ashraf’s appointment and promotion to the four-star rank were announced earlier in the week by the Director General of Public Relations for the Navy.
During his farewell speech, Admiral Niazi praised Admiral Ashraf’s extensive experience in key command and staff roles, acknowledging his illustrious career marked by significant achievements. He expressed confidence in Admiral Ashraf’s leadership, believing that he would steer the force toward new heights.
