Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is a non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that provides humanitarian and social welfare services to communities across Pakistan. It was established in 1990 by a group of like-minded individuals inspired by Islam’s teachings and its emphasis on helping the poor, needy, and vulnerable members of society.
A few of the operations of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan include:
Disaster management: Alkhidmat responds to emergencies and crises such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, and pandemics and helps the affected people to rebuild their lives and livelihoods. For example, in 2010, Alkhidmat received financial support from the Government of Japan to support the flood-affected people in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In 2022, Alkhidmat launched rehabilitation and reconstruction activities for natural disaster victims.
Health: Alkhidmat provides health care services to the underprivileged and marginalized segments of society through its network of hospitals, clinics, medical camps, blood banks, laboratories, and ambulances. Alkhidmat also runs health awareness campaigns and vaccination programs for various diseases.
Education: Alkhidmat supports the education of orphans, street children, and needy students through its schools, colleges, scholarships, vocational training centres, and libraries. Alkhidmat also promotes academia-industry linkages and research collaborations with various universities and institutions.
Clean water: Alkhidmat provides access to clean drinking water to the water-scarce areas of Pakistan through its water projects, such as wells, hand pumps, filtration plants, and water tankers. Alkhidmat also educates the communities about water conservation and hygiene practices.
Orphan care: Alkhidmat sponsors the living, education, health, and social development of orphans through its orphan care program. Alkhidmat runs 21 Aghosh Homes across Pakistan, which are residential facilities for orphans that provide them with a family-like environment.
Mawakhat: Alkhidmat provides interest-free loans to poor and needy people who want to start or expand their small businesses or income-generating activities. Alkhidmat also offers financial literacy and entrepreneurship training to loan beneficiaries.
Community services: Alkhidmat engages in various community service activities, such as distributing food packs, meat packs, winter packages, Ramadan packages, Eid gifts, wheelchairs, sewing machines, etc., to deserving people. Alkhidmat also respects the diversity of faiths and cultures in Pakistan and distributes Christmas gifts and rations among the Christian community.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s social development and humanitarian relief in various ways. Its multiple projects and programs have impacted over 21.8 million lives across Pakistan. It has installed more than 17,000 water projects that provide clean water to millions of people. It has sponsored over 21,600 orphans and provided them with quality education, health care, and social support.
It has established 45 hospitals offering affordable and quality healthcare services to thousands of patients daily.

It has disbursed more than 96 million PKR as interest-free loans to more than 10,000 beneficiaries who have improved their economic conditions.
It has awarded more than 4,800 scholarships to talented and deserving students who have pursued higher education in various fields.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has also faced some challenges and limitations in its operations. It needs more adequate resources and funds to meet the growing needs and demands of the people in need.
It needs coordination and cooperation among government agencies, donors, partners, and beneficiaries.
There needs to be more awareness and trust among some segments of society about the work and objectives of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
Then, more skilled and trained human resources must be needed to manage and implement various projects and programs effectively.
It is also important to have proper monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to measure the impact and outcomes of various projects and programs.
Concludingly, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is a leading charity organization in Pakistan that has been serving humanity for over three decades. It has a wide range of operations that cover various aspects of life, such as disaster management, health, education, clean water, orphan care, mawakhat, and community services. It has contributed positively to the social development and humanitarian relief of Pakistan’s millions of people. However, it also faces challenges and limitations that must be addressed and overcome to improve its performance and efficiency. Hence, the foundation’s contribution is praiseworthy, and people should contribute more to the foundation.
