Dhaka: 73 people have been killed in protests on the first day of the civil disobedience movement by students in Bangladesh.
Students in Bangladesh have once again taken to the streets over the non-acceptance of their demands and this time the students have started a civil disobedience movement in the country demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid.
According to local media, thousands of students are on the streets and demonstrations are being held against the government, at least 73 people have been killed and dozens injured during clashes between police and protesters in today’s demonstrations.

According to Bangladeshi media, the government has also announced to impose an indefinite curfew after 6 pm. While internet services have also been shut down in view of the protests, the government has also declared a public holiday from Monday to Wednesday across the country.
It may be recalled that in Bangladesh, there were protests for several days last month against the 30% quota in government jobs for the children of 1971 war fighters, in which 200 people were killed, after which the Supreme Court abolished the quota system.
