WASHINGTON: Joe Biden, the current President of the United States, hinted on Thursday that he will run for re-election in 2024, but did not reveal the exact date of his announcement.
During a brief interaction with reporters in Congress, Biden playfully teased them by saying, “When I announce it,” with a smile on his face.
Biden, who is 80 years old, was meeting with Democratic Party senators when he spoke about his re-election plans. He and his team have made it clear that he intends to run for a second term, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Although the timing of his announcement remains unknown, historical precedent suggests that it could be as early as next month. Both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton announced their reelection campaigns in April, while George W. Bush chose May.
