Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and head of the parliamentary delegation, has appealed to the international community to back Pakistan’s endeavors to achieve lasting peace through dialogue and diplomacy. Speaking at a reception hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C., he emphasized that sustainable peace in South Asia hinges on comprehensive discussions between all parties involved.
In light of the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, Zardari stated that Pakistan has approached the situation with responsibility and praised the courage of Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the nation. He also recognized the efforts of Pakistani diplomatic missions in effectively communicating Pakistan’s position globally.
Zardari underscored the pivotal role of the Pakistani community in the United States, highlighting their potential to serve as a bridge between the two nations. He encouraged community members to actively participate in promoting the shared ideals of peace and prosperity.
Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Malik, voiced concerns about India’s regional ambitions, asserting that its narrative is based on suspicion rather than facts. He condemned Indian military actions that have targeted civilians, including children, while asserting Pakistan’s resilience and success on various fronts.
Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., reinforced the notion that unity and dialogue signify strength. Together, he affirmed, they will continue to promote Pakistan’s narrative on the global stage.
