The use of government vehicles and machinery from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Islamabad has sparked a debate regarding the appropriate use of public resources.

Over 40 operational vehicles from Rescue 1122, including ambulances and fire trucks, were sent to Islamabad, with videos showing the vehicles arriving in Swabi. Additionally, cranes, excavators, and disaster response vehicles were also requested, potentially to clear blocked routes at the rally.

Rescue officials confirmed that staff members and vehicles are accompanying convoys heading to the event. They stated that the resources are being used for emergency services and to ensure public safety during the gathering.

However, the deployment has raised concerns about the use of government resources for political events, despite authorities asserting that their primary goal is public safety during the rally.

The controversy comes amidst preparations for the PTI rally in Islamabad, with significant disruptions caused by road closures leading up to the event. Despite this, PTI leaders have declared that the rally will proceed as planned.

The Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was reported to be personally overseeing the preparations for the rally.
