COP27 President Sameh Shoukry updated the media on ongoing negotiations, including developing a balanced and productive text and urged the Parties to show their determination and reach a consensus.
He further said, “The issue now rests with the will of the parties. It is the parties who must rise to the occasion and take upon themselves the responsibility of finding the areas of convergence”.
The world is facing an existential threat from global warming and climate change. Therefore, it is the world’s responsibility to rise to the occasion and evolve a consensus on the most critical issue humanity is facing.
