The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation near Kundian, Mianwali, foiling a planned attack on police and state institutions.

Acting on a tip-off, CTD officers raided the location, prompting a gunfight. Two terrorists were killed—reportedly by their own accomplices—while six others managed to escape. A large cache of weapons, including rifles, grenades, bullets, and explosives, was recovered from the site.

According to the CTD, the suspects had finalized plans to launch attacks on law enforcement. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the remaining fugitives, while the identities of the deceased are being verified.

The CTD reaffirmed its resolve to eliminate terrorism and ensure a safe Punjab. Pakistan has seen a surge in terror activity, ranking second globally in the 2025 Global Terrorism Index.
