Eight dead as gunmen attack passenger bus in G-B’s ChilasA passenger bus in Chilas district in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) came under gunfire by unidentified armed men, resulting in the death of at least eight passengers, republic policy reported reported.
The incident occurred on the Karakoram highway in the Hudur area in Chilas, a popular stopping point for tourists. According to rescue sources, the gunfire ignited fire on the bus, leaving 26 people, including women and children, wounded, with some in critical condition.
According to local police, the injured have been transported to the Regional Headquarters Hospital Chilas. The bus, carrying passengers from the Ghizer district, was en route to Rawalpindi when the attackers struck.
