Renowned economist Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has said that the hallmark of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the establishment of Special Economic Zones.
During an interview, he said that projects relating to power generation, infrastructure and Gwadar port had been completed under CPEC.
He said these Special Economic Zones would be the backbone of this revolutionary project.
Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said there would be the relocation of industries from China to Pakistan, resulting in employment opportunities for youth.
To a question, the economist opined that Chinese companies could be invited for investment in Pakistan, especially in those sectors where the country has the potential to export its products.
