Exciting Lineup for Gaddafi Stadium’s Inauguration Ceremony Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed an exciting star-studded lineup for the grand inauguration of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, following its extensive renovations ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. Set to take place on Friday, February 9, the event will feature performances by renowned artists Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, and Arif Lohar, along with a spectacular fireworks display. The ceremony will begin at 7 PM, and the PCB has decided to make it free for the public to attend.

In addition to the lively performances, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will host a special dinner for the workers who contributed to the stadium’s extensive upgrade over the past months.

Naqvi had previously announced the inauguration of Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi’s National Stadium for February 7 and 11, respectively, as both venues have undergone major renovations in preparation for the Champions Trophy matches.

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium will host its first Champions Trophy match on February 22, when England faces off against Australia in what promises to be an exciting contest. The tournament will kick off on February 19 and run through March 9, with 15 thrilling matches across both Lahore and Dubai.

The tournament features eight teams divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh
  • Group B: Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia

The opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand will take place in Karachi on February 19, followed by the highly anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash in Dubai on February 23.

With 10 matches scheduled in Pakistan, including the semi-finals, the Champions Trophy’s grand final is slated to be held in Lahore—unless India qualifies, in which case the final will take place in Dubai.

Upcoming Champions Trophy Matches at Gaddafi Stadium:

  • February 22 — Australia vs. England
  • February 26 — Afghanistan vs. England
  • February 28 — Afghanistan vs. Australia
  • March 5 — Semi-final 2
  • March 9 — Final (unless India qualifies, then in Dubai)
