The dengue outbreak in Rawalpindi continues to escalate, with 101 reported cases now on the record. Over the past day, two more individuals have fallen victim to this mosquito-borne disease, adding to the growing concerns in the region.

Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, the District Coordinator for Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC), has provided crucial updates on the situation. He revealed that both new patients hail from Union Council-79 Dhoke Munshi, specifically the Potohar town area. Currently, the district’s healthcare facilities are grappling with the influx of dengue cases. Out of the 26 patients under medical care, 16 have tested positive for the virus. This surge in cases demands a swift and efficient response to contain the outbreak’s spread.
