Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has requested a thorough investigation into the “ongoing threats” to his life and the “attack” on his home in Zaman Park. In a letter addressed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Umar Ata Bandial, Khan urged for a comprehensive investigation into the events of Saturday, when his house was raided by the Punjab Police while he was attending a court hearing in the Toshakhana case in Islamabad.
Khan claimed that the events of Saturday were evidence that there was a plot to assassinate him once again. He expressed his concern for his personal safety and the safety of his family, as well as the implications of such a plot on the democratic process of the country.
The PTI Chairman has been targeted in several assassination attempts in the past, and he continues to receive threats to his life. He urged the CJP to take immediate action and provide him with adequate security measures to ensure his safety.
The raid on Khan’s home has drawn criticism from opposition leaders and human rights activists, who have called for an independent investigation into the incident. The Punjab Police have defended their actions, stating that they were following standard operating procedures during the search.
Khan has been an influential figure in Pakistani politics for many years, and his PTI party currently holds power in the country. The ongoing threats to his life highlight the challenges faced by politicians and public figures in Pakistan, where political violence and instability continue to be a concern.
