Down Under opener Usman Khawaja hit a snag in his journey to India with the Australian cricket team after a delay in his visa caused him to miss the flight. The only player on the roster who didn’t make the trip, Khawaja took to social media to share his frustration with a humorous meme.
Cricket Australia assured that the visa is expected to arrive soon and that Khawaja has been rescheduled to fly out the following day, with some support staff also set to depart then.
The first of four tests will be held in Nagpur starting on February 9th. Khawaja, who was recently crowned the Shane Warne award recipient as the top test player of the year after scoring 1,020 runs with a phenomenal average of 78.46, is eager to get going.
