A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck Karachi and nearby areas on Monday afternoon, according to a statement from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The earthquake occurred at 16:11 PST and had its epicenter 75 kilometers north of Karachi, at a depth of 19 kilometers. The coordinates were reported as 25.54°N latitude and 67.17°E longitude.

Although there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage, the tremors caused widespread panic among local residents. Authorities are currently assessing the impact of the quake, and further updates are expected as evaluations continue.
