Former Prime Minister and PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif is reportedly content with Pakistan’s current “hybrid system” of governance and holds no objections to the establishment’s role in national affairs. According to party insiders, Nawaz, though keeping a low public profile, remains a firm supporter of the Shehbaz Sharif-led federal government and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s leadership in Punjab.

Sources confirm that Nawaz has accepted the structure and limits of the current political system and has dismissed rumours of dissatisfaction as unfounded. Though no longer seeking office, he offers regular guidance to Maryam and occasionally attends official Punjab meetings.

Nawaz, who played a pivotal role in appointing General Asim Munir as Army Chief, reportedly welcomed his elevation to Field Marshal. While not present in federal meetings, Shehbaz Sharif is said to consult Nawaz on major decisions. The elder Sharif remains fully aligned with the party’s leadership and direction.
