The Ministry of Information on Monday firmly rejected claims that the United States is using Pakistani airspace or military bases for strikes against Iran, calling such reports “pure disinformation” and a “reckless, blame-pushing narrative.” The ministry clarified there is no credible evidence of US aircraft or intelligence assets being stationed in Pakistan, nor any operational flights from Pakistan to Iran for military action.
Highlighting Islamabad’s stance during the recent 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, when the US also conducted strikes inside Iran, the ministry noted that Pakistan publicly condemned US actions, further disproving the narrative that Pakistan is facilitating attacks. Officials said the story appears aimed at dragging Pakistan into a US-Iran confrontation without any verifiable proof.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. US President Donald Trump has warned Iran of possible strikes over its violent crackdown on ongoing protests, prompting stern responses from Tehran. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country is “not seeking war but is fully prepared for war,” while expressing readiness for negotiations on the basis of “mutual respect and equal rights.”
The clarification underscores Pakistan’s continued effort to maintain neutrality while the US-Iran standoff intensifies.
