Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), expressed strong concerns on Monday about potential attempts to hinder the upcoming elections in Pakistan. During a press conference in Qambar Shahdadkot, he raised the alarm, citing the Chief Justice’s statement in February highlighting the precarious political situation at the time.

The PPP leader firmly believes that no single entity, however powerful, should be allowed to disrupt the democratic process. He warned of severe consequences if the elections are delayed or manipulated.

Addressing the people of South Punjab, Bilawal urged them to unite. He framed the upcoming elections as a contest between the PPP’s arrow symbol and the lion of the PML-N, emphasizing the fierce competition that lies ahead. He pledged that the PPP would fight vigorously, undeterred by any attempts to discourage their candidates.

Bilawal accused the PML-N of resorting to unfair tactics and avoiding direct political competition. He alleged that the PML-N was pressuring him to make decisions detrimental to the PPP’s electoral chances in Punjab. He condemned the politics of division and hatred advocated by certain old-guard politicians, arguing that they offered no solutions to pressing issues like poverty, unemployment, and inflation.

The PPP leader specifically focused on alleged hindrances faced by PPP candidates in areas like Chakwal, Tala Gang, Toba Tek Singh, and Lahore. He accused the PML-N of foul play by denying PPP candidates their rightful arrow symbols. While highlighting the plight of flood victims, Bilawal also urged the Election Commission not to obstruct rehabilitation efforts.

Despite facing these challenges, Bilawal emphasized the PPP’s unwavering commitment to the people and its resolve to move forward. He concluded by appealing to the public to embrace a new era of politics built on unity and inclusivity. He condemned the personal enmity fostered by some politicians and called for a shift towards a more progressive and forward-thinking political landscape.
