President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces, calling it a serious violation of international law and an attack on the sanctity and historical character of the revered religious site.
In an official statement, he described the recent incident—reportedly involving an Israeli minister—as a deliberate provocation. He firmly rejected any attempts to alter the established religious and legal status of the mosque, stressing that such actions risk further destabilizing the region.
The president also expressed deep concern over restrictions placed on worshippers’ access to the mosque, particularly during sacred occasions such as Ramzan and Eid. He noted that the broader regional tensions, including the ongoing situation involving the United States and Iran, appeared to be used as justification for these measures.
Calling for immediate global attention, Zardari urged the international community to take urgent steps to prevent further violations.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent support for the Palestinian people and their right to an independent state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
