SC resumes hearing for simultaneous elections petition

The Supreme Court of Pakistan reconvened on Thursday to hear a plea for simultaneous elections throughout the country.

The previous hearing before Eidul Fitr requested political parties to meet and come up with a response by April 27. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Munib Akhtar, and Justice Ijazul Ahsan is currently hearing the case.

At the last hearing, the court was informed that a meeting between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was scheduled for April 26, leading to the adjournment of the hearing.
