Shaukat Khanum Hospitals are state-of-the-art cancer centres in Lahore and Peshawar, and another one is under construction in Karachi. They are named after the mother of Imran Khan, who died of cancer in 1985. Imran Khan, who was then a famous cricketer and captain of the Pakistani national team, decided to build a cancer hospital in Pakistan where the majority of patients would be treated free of charge. It was the first specialized cancer facility in the entire region, with all cancer diagnostic and therapeutic facilities under one roof. The hospital has a 75% free treatment policy, meaning three out of every four patients are treated completely free of cost. The hospital relies on donations from individuals, corporations, and charitable organizations to cover its operational costs.

The second Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre was inaugurated in Peshawar on December 29, 2015. It is a 100-bed hospital with a similar free treatment policy as the Lahore hospital. The hospital serves the population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Balochistan, and Afghanistan. The third Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is under construction in Karachi. It is expected to be completed by 2023. It will be a 250-bed hospital that can treat over 15,000 new cancer patients every year.
