The popularity of Imran Khan is not coming down despite audio leaks. Imran Khan is the most popular in his core political constituency. His supporters regard him as the little messiah for their political emancipation.
Pakistan has been facing political crises since the ouster of the former prime minister Imran Khan. Critics believe that the popularity of the former prime minister was at its lowest ebb at the beginning of the year 2022. Imran Khan-led PTI was losing almost all by-elections in the country. PTI lost by a heavy margin in Khanewal in the last bye-elections in the Buzdar regime in Punjab. The Pothohar region is already with the PTI and has kept the momentum of its popularity in the area. PTI and Imran Khan are the most popular phenomenon in southern Punjab. Even the surveys indicate that PTI is leading central Punjab, once the infallible stronghold of PML N. PTI is again famous in the urban areas of Sindh. Hence, PTI is widespread across the country. PTI is already popular in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The political trends in the politics of Pakistan have always been varying. However, the popularity of IK and PTI will remain intact as long as PDM remains in power. The country’s economy is the fundamental reason for the decline of PDM popularity in their traditional constituencies. That is the reason the PDM is not holding the elections. However, it does not matter because PDM is not gaining in the coming months. However, political analysis always depends on situations and circumstances that change daily. Hence, the popularity of IK and PTI is soaring across the country. Critics explain that it might not be due to the charisma or performance of Ik but to many other reasons, such as the declining economy, bad governance and the role of de-facto forces.
