Trio Unites to Counter Terrorism: China, Pakistan, Iran

ISLAMABAD: In a groundbreaking move, China, alongside Pakistan and Iran, has joined forces to tackle the menace of terrorism in the region, as reported by The Republic Policy News.

According to the latest announcement from the Foreign Office, the inaugural Pakistan-China-Iran Trilateral Consultation Meeting on Counter-Terrorism and Security took place at the director general level in Beijing on Wednesday.

Leading the Pakistan delegation was Abdul Hameed, Director General (Counter Terrorism) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The delegations engaged in comprehensive discussions on the regional security landscape, with a specific focus on the pervasive threat of terrorism in the region. Building on the fruitful outcomes of these deliberations, the three parties have made the decision to institutionalize the trilateral consultations on counter-terrorism and security,” shared the Foreign Office spokesperson during the weekly media briefing.

Further details regarding this strategic partnership will be meticulously formulated in the coming stages, added Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office spokesperson.

For China, the mastermind behind the region’s CPEC projects, this trilateral collaboration holds immense significance in ensuring the completion of these projects by effectively addressing security concerns that arise.
