United Arab Emirates President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to arrive in Islamabad on Friday for a one day official visit that carries strong diplomatic and economic significance. The visit is being made at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and marks Sheikh Mohamed’s first trip to Pakistan since assuming the presidency of the UAE. Accompanied by a high level delegation including senior ministers and officials, the Abu Dhabi ruler will meet the prime minister to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments of shared concern. Pakistani officials say the visit reflects the depth of long standing brotherly ties between the two countries.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit underlines a shared commitment to further expand cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, energy, development, and regional stability. It is seen as an opportunity to translate political goodwill into tangible economic outcomes at a time when Pakistan is seeking stronger foreign investment. Meanwhile, the Islamabad district administration has declared Friday a local holiday within the capital’s revenue limits to facilitate the visit, while confirming that essential services including hospitals, police, and utilities will remain fully operational.
