UNICEF to provide $20m for youth projects

Unicef will provide Pakistan with $20 million to implement a range of programmes as part of its Generation Unlimited initiative, which focuses on enhancing youth education, skills development, and employment prospects. The government of Pakistan and Unicef signed a letter of intent during a high-level meeting, which was attended by key representatives from both sides, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and UNICEF Representative in Pakistan Abdullah Fadil. Generation Unlimited is a global partnership that aims to equip young people with the tools they need to become productive and engaged citizens, by linking secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. This empowers every young person to thrive in the world of work.The Generation Unlimited (GenU) plan, which focuses on youth education, skills development, and employability prospects, will receive a boost of $20 million from the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) in Pakistan.
