Waseem Qadir Leaves PTI after Taking PTI votes

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Waseem Qadir, the candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), secured victory in Lahore’s NA-121 constituency. After winning, he officially joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). In a video statement, Qadir expressed his decision, saying, “I am Waseem Qadir. I was PTI’s Lahore secretary-general. I have returned to my home. For my constituency’s and my people’s development, I have joined the Muslim League-Noon again.”

This move comes as both PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) engage in talks for the formation of a future coalition government, given that none of the parties secured a simple majority in the recent elections. The situation remains uncertain as the country faces urgent challenges, including negotiating a new International Monetary Fund program to stabilize the struggling economy.
