Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft Amid Escalating Tensions

[post-views]

Pakistan has extended its airspace restrictions on all Indian-registered aircraft—including civilian, military, and those owned or leased by Indian entities—the Pakistan Airports Authority announced on Friday.

As per the official notification, aircraft operated by Indian airlines are barred from entering or transiting through Pakistani airspace. The extended restriction took effect at 3:20 PM on July 18 and will remain in place until 4:59 AM on August 24, 2025 (Pakistan Standard Time).

This decision follows escalating diplomatic tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi. Pakistan has repeatedly accused India of sponsoring cross-border terrorism and orchestrating recent violent incidents within its territory. The continued airspace closure, initially introduced as part of national security measures, serves as a symbolic and strategic response to what Pakistan alleges are hostile actions by India.
