Government keeps petrol price unchanged and increases diesel rate

[post-views]

The federal government has kept the petrol price unchanged for the next fifteen days. The rate of high speed diesel has been increased by six rupees per litre. The new price of diesel is two hundred eighty four rupees and forty four paisas per litre. The price of petrol will stay at two hundred sixty five rupees and forty five paisas. The Finance Division issued this notification after reviewing the recommendations of OGRA.

Earlier reports suggested a possible decrease in petrol price. They also indicated a sharper rise in diesel. The government made a smaller adjustment. This decision follows the last review. In the previous fortnight petrol was raised by two rupees and forty three paisas. Diesel was raised by three rupees and two paisas at that time.

The new revision shows pressure from global markets. Diesel prices remain sensitive due to international demand. Petrol stability provides temporary relief to citizens. The increase in diesel is expected to affect transport and agriculture. The government says it will continue reviewing fuel trends.
