Senate Questions CDA Land Allotments and FIA Conduct

PPP Senator Palwasha Khan accused the FIA and the NCCIA of corruption during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Privileges, she demanded that all inquiries into land allotments be shifted to NAB for impartial accountability. Her remarks came as the committee reviewed complaints of irregularities in CDA records and disputed transfers of valuable plots. Republic Policy

CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the committee and said the authority had scanned its records through the Punjab Land Revenue Authority, he said the CDA was pursuing all court cases professionally and would comply with any judicial decision. He questioned how the CDA could comment on matters already before civil courts when several allotment cases remained sub judice. Republic Policy

Senator Rubina Khalid criticised the CDA for not fulfilling its responsibilities toward affected citizens, CDA officials confirmed that multiple farmhouse allotment cases worth around Rs1.5 billion were pending, and Senator Khalid also questioned how a single plot was transferred five times inside the CDA office without proper explanation. The CDA chairman said land records were being computerised and that corruption cases involving CDA employees had already been forwarded to the FIA, however Senator Palwasha insisted that both the FIA and the NCCIA were corrupt and she demanded that all illegal allotment cases be sent to NAB after obtaining full details. PML N Senator Saadia Abbasi questioned how a sub judice case could be referred to another agency, the committee then demanded complete records of all fake plot allotments and transfers, and directed the CDA to provide the documents without delay. Republic Policy

The meeting also discussed repeated complaints from members about problems in the Parliament Lodges, the CDA chairman assured the committee that he would visit the lodges personally to address the issues and ensure timely resolution. Republic Policy
