NDC Demands Imran Khan See Personal Doctor, Criticizes Government Over Health Concerns

[post-views]

The National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has raised concerns about the health of jailed PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan, demanding he be allowed to meet his personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan. This follows a recent eye procedure Imran underwent in Islamabad, which the government confirmed but reportedly did not inform his family or party about—prompting PTI protests.

At a meeting in Islamabad, NDC members, including Fawad Chaudhry and Imran Ismail, criticized the government’s handling of Imran’s medical care, calling it “undemocratic” and “politicized.” They argued that denying a prisoner proper healthcare is a criminal act and cited the precedent set for Nawaz Sharif, who was allowed access to his own doctor in jail. The NDC also condemned government transparency over Imran’s condition and called for a joint opposition sit-in demanding fair treatment.
