Pakistan, along with Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, on Monday issued a joint appeal urging the international community to take concrete action against Israel’s escalating measures in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement from the foreign ministers of the eight nations, they condemned Israel’s attempted annexation and other unilateral actions in Palestinian territories, describing them as null and void under international law and in violation of United Nations resolutions. The ministers also criticized inflammatory rhetoric from Israeli officials, warning that it heightens tensions, fuels instability, and undermines prospects for peace.
The statement emphasized that continued escalation threatens regional stability and erodes efforts toward a just, lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue. It called on the global community to move beyond mere expressions of concern and implement effective measures to ensure accountability, protect civilians, and uphold international law.
Reaffirming the rights of the Palestinian people, the ministers reiterated opposition to any changes affecting the legal, demographic, or administrative status of occupied territories, underscoring support for a negotiated two-state solution consistent with international norms.
