Shehbaz Sharif, Iranian FM Hold Talks on Regional Stability

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Pakistan’s Prime Minister House on Saturday, where he held high-level discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the evolving regional situation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, highlighting the significance of the diplomatic engagement.

Following the talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X that he was pleased to meet Foreign Minister Araghchi and his delegation in Islamabad. He described the exchange as warm and cordial, noting that both sides discussed the current regional dynamics and explored ways to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is stepping up its diplomatic efforts to facilitate renewed Iran-US dialogue. Islamabad is reportedly pushing for a second round of talks to be held in the country, aiming to position itself as a constructive mediator after an earlier round of negotiations ended without a concrete outcome.
