Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb said Thursday that Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability has taken hold and that reforms have moved from intent to implementation, as the country marked its 79th Independence Day.
In a message issued on the occasion, he said strengthening fiscal and external fundamentals is contributing to rising economic and investor confidence, and that Pakistan is now entering the next phase of its economic journey. He said the government’s focus would shift toward accelerating growth, attracting investment, expanding exports, creating jobs, and opening greater opportunities for the public.
Aurangzeb attributed the country’s renewed sense of confidence to improvements in key economic indicators and the ongoing implementation of reforms. He said Pakistan’s people remain its greatest strength and most important investment, adding that empowering youth, women, entrepreneurs, farmers, workers, freelancers, innovators, and businesses through skills and opportunity would drive future growth.
The minister said the government’s aim was to translate stability into growth, reforms into opportunity, and economic progress into better living standards. “There is much more to accomplish, but the direction is clear,” he said, stressing that continuity, collective effort, and confidence in the country’s potential would be critical to sustaining progress.
Aurangzeb also paid tribute to the vision and sacrifices of the country’s forefathers and reaffirmed his commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous, and inclusive Pakistan
