The leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, has pointed fingers at two former military officials for the current turmoil in the nation.

In a statement to journalists on Thursday, Sharif held General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed responsible for manipulating Pakistan to suit their own desires and whims by installing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in 2018.

He reminisced about his speech in Gujranwala on October 16, 2020, where he directly accused the then chief of army staff General (retired) Bajwa and then-director-general Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Faiz of manipulating elections.

Sharif previously accused the military leaders of violating the constitution by installing PTI leader Imran Khan as prime minister, removing his government, silencing the media, pressuring the judiciary, and targeting opposition politicians.
