Shehbaz Sharif flies to Turkiye to support earthquake relief efforts

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Turkiye to show solidarity and support to the Turkish people following the catastrophic earthquakes.

As a heartfelt gesture, the Pakistani nation’s leader will spend two days in Ankara, where he plans to meet with President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to offer his condolences in person and convey his sympathies over the devastating loss of lives and widespread damage.

During his visit, the prime minister will reiterate Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to stand with the Turkish people during tough times and will continue to provide all possible support to the ongoing relief efforts.

In addition to meeting with President Erdogan, he will also tour the earthquake-affected areas in southern Turkiye and interact with both Pakistani search and rescue teams and earthquake survivors.

On February 6, in the wake of the devastating earthquake, the prime minister had a conversation with President Erdogan and assured him that all possible aid would be given for the rescue and relief effort. The prime minister is personally overseeing the relief effort, mobilizing all available resources to help the Turkish people.
