On Sunday, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the Israeli air raid on the Syrian city of Damascus and its surroundings, deeming it a “blatant breach” of international law. Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the Israeli side to halt armed provocations against the Syrian Arab Republic and avoid taking measures that could lead to hazardous consequences for the whole region.
According to officials and witnesses, a missile from Israel hit a structure in the heavily fortified Kafr Sousa area of central Damascus, located close to Iranian installations. The strike killed five individuals.
