Nablus under siege: Israeli troops gunned down 11 Palestinians

Israeli forces carried out a deadly raid on the Palestinian city of Nablus on Wednesday, killing 11 and injuring over 80 with gunshot wounds, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

The Israeli army claimed that the operation was aimed at suspects accused of shootings in the West Bank, and that troops were fired upon but sustained no casualties. The death toll matched that of a recent Israeli army raid in Jenin.

Palestinian official Hussein Al-Sheikh condemned the raid as a “massacre” and called for international protection. The Israeli military said that suspects were shot while attempting to flee, and that troops came under attack with rocks, explosives, and Molotov cocktails.
