According to reports, Warner Bros is currently working on a highly anticipated animated Batman Beyond movie in response to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s success. Jess Sneider, who appeared on The Hot Mic podcast, revealed the information about the potential film.

Walter Hamada reportedly commissioned the project, which has never been officially announced. Currently, the project is in development at DC, and Daniel Casey, the writer of Fast 9, penned the script for a Batman Beyond movie. However, the movie won’t be live-action as Christina Hodson is working on that. Instead, the animated Batman Beyond movie will be DC’s response to Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a massive triumph for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film garnered $384.3 million globally on a $90 million budget after its release in 2018. The movie has been renewed for sequels, with the first, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, slated to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

It’s worth noting that Sneider cautioned that the film is in the initial stages, and any situation is possible, from moving forward to being cancelled.
