PM Shehbaz aims to reduce inflationary impact with free flour and subsidized petrol during Ramadan

Islamabad and Lahore: With Ramadan fast approaching and the escalating inflation posing a threat to the purchasing power of the lower and middle-class individuals, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to provide complimentary flour and discounted petrol to one million residents of Islamabad during Ramadan. The News reported this development on Tuesday.

During a meeting held in the federal capital to discuss methods to mitigate the inflationary impact on the lower and middle classes, the Prime Minister stressed that the government was taking steps to alleviate the difficulties faced by the impoverished segments of society.

In the same meeting, Shehbaz Sharif urged the provincial governments of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan to partake in the initiative and directed the relevant authorities to incorporate modern technology to ensure accountability and transparency in the free distribution of wheat flour.

According to reports from the meeting, a scheme for the provision of free wheat flour in the outskirts of Islamabad during Ramadan was nearing its conclusion and is expected to benefit approximately 150,000 households, as per the directives of the Prime Minister.
