Pakistan cricket team Director, Mickey Arthur, praised the national team skipper, Babar Azam, calling him a “remarkable talent” and stated that there is still room for him to “further develop his skills”.
During a press conference held at Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Arthur, accompanied by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Najam Sethi, and PCB Director Domestic, Haroon Rasheed, expressed his admiration for Babar, stating, “I firmly believe that Babar is a remarkable talent and I still think he can improve. I will continue to challenge him to get better and better, because he is destined to become a legend of the game.”
Arthur expressed his attachment to Pakistan and its cricket team, calling his return to the national side a “privilege”. He further stated, “It’s a privilege for me to return and work hard to improve the team, with the ultimate goal of winning the World Cup and achieving the number one spot in all formats of the game.”
Responding to a question, Arthur dismissed the idea of online coaching, emphasizing that he had been keeping tabs on Pakistan’s performance for years and knew “exactly what they need to be successful”. He also praised the team’s talent and revealed that he had a competent support staff and planned to provide them with the best possible coaches.
“I’m giving them a clear path and direction, the talent in that dressing room is second to none,” he said.
