Dubbed as Biparjoy, the cyclone is set to make landfall on Thursday afternoon, hitting the coastal areas between Mandvi in Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan, boasting maximum sustained wind speeds of 125-135km (78-84 miles) per hour, with gusts reaching 150 km (93 miles) per hour.
In a statement, the Sindh health department cautioned about the potential shutdown of mobile networks during the heavy rainfall, urging the evacuation of thousands of individuals residing in vulnerable areas.
Taking swift action, the health department has notified all medical facilities and doctors, emphasizing the importance of seeking shelter indoors, as the province braces for rainfall ranging from 60mm to 100mm.
