While currently in China for an international forum, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is scheduled to attend a climate conference in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month, as per a report by The News on Tuesday.
The event, known as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) or COP28, will mark its 28th session this year. Pakistan has confirmed its participation in this significant climate conference, which will take place at the Dubai Expo Centre in the UAE.
During this conference, the prime minister is expected to engage with world leaders on the sidelines. The precise schedule of his visit and meetings will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.
Since taking office in mid-August this year after the dissolution of the National Assembly ahead of the general elections, the prime minister has undertaken multiple international visits, including to the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and China.
Sources indicate that Pakistan intends to share its experiences and concerns regarding climate change with global leaders at this event.
