LAHORE — Police have arrested a man and his wife for allegedly killing his 80-year-old father during a property dispute in the Gujjarpura area.
According to a police spokesperson, the victim, Muhammad Azeem, was allegedly shot dead by his son. The suspects fled the scene following the incident.
Deputy Inspector General Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza took notice of the case and directed police to trace and arrest those involved.
A team led by Gujjarpura Investigation In-charge Mumtaz Hussain later arrested the suspects with the help of human intelligence and other investigative methods, the spokesperson said.
DIG Zeeshan Raza said the suspects were in police custody and instructed investigators to complete the inquiry and submit a comprehensive challan so that the accused could be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
SSP Muhammad Naveed announced certificates of appreciation for the police team involved in the arrests.
