CHENNAI: Fakhar Zaman, the left-handed Pakistani batter, is set to sit out of Pakistan’s vital World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan, which is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday), as per sources.
The 33-year-old cricketer, sources indicate, will be absent from the Green Shirts’ game in Chennai due to a knee injury sustained earlier in the week, for which he is currently undergoing treatment.
Nonetheless, the team management remains hopeful that Zaman will recover in time for the match against South Africa, led by Babar Azam, as mentioned by the sources.
Additionally, the sources note that Zaman’s health has shown significant improvement, and all other players who had been battling fever during their stay in India for the World Cup 2023 have also made a full recovery.
